Brown looks to “professionals” in presidential seach

Brown University will get advice from a headhunting firm as it seeks to replace outgoing President Ruth Simmons. A Brown spokesperson says after interviewing several companies, the university has selected Spencer Stuart, an executive search firm with offices around the globe.

The presidential search committees, which include members of Brown’s governing board, alumni, faculty and current students, have already met to discuss the search process. It is likely to include several open forums to be scheduled for early November.
