Giving RISD a run for its money?
The Massachusetts College of Art and Design will spend $120 million to expand and re-design its Boston campus. According to The Boston Globe, MassArt has raised nearly all of the funding for the project already, thanks to a $30 million boost from the state.
The initiative is aimed at making the publicly-funded college “more visible and accessible,” says MassArt President Dawn Barrett.
MassArt is a small college serving 1,700 undergraduates and 175 graduate students. It claims to be the oldest public arts school in the country.
