Chafee appoints new higher ed board

Governor Lincoln Chafee has tapped a Providence financial executive as the new chair of the Board of Governors for Higher Education, which sets policies for state colleges and universities.

Lorne Adrain manages an independent financial firm and is a Providence civic activist. Chafee’s nine new appointees to the 13-member board also include Eva Marie Mancuso, a former candidate for Attorney General, and Jay Walsh, a high school social studies teacher from North Kingstown.
