Brown board meeting on budget, tuition
The Corporation of Brown is meeting today and tomorrow to set tuition and budget priorities for the 2011-2012 school year. The Corporation is Brown’s equivalent to a board of trustees.
Capital projects and financial aid are also likely to be on the agenda. Last year the group approved a 4.5% tuition hike bringing total tuition and fees to $51,360.
The board also approved a budget last year that led to layoffs for 30 administrative staffers. The layoffs were part of a larger reorganization aimed at trimming the university’s operating budget by $14 million.
