Central Falls parents: our children suffer needlessly
More than 100 parents of students at Central Falls High School have signed a letter asking state education officials to intervene in the turnaround effort underway at the school.
Parents say they are frustrated by a lack of progress and by teachers who repeatedly call in sick.
“Please take charge of our high school,” the parents write. “Bring in the teachers who will work, teach our children, help build their lives so they have a strong future in America.”
Teachers say lingering resentment over the firing of the entire faculty last Spring has hurt the overhaul of what state officials named one of the lowest-performing schools in the state.
In their letter, the parents say their children are starting to lose faith in the school.
