Early admissions remain steady at Brown
Brown University received 2,795 applications for early decision for the class of 2015. The school admitted 578 students, about a 21 percent acceptance rate. The Brown Daily Herald reports the numbers were flat when compared to the prior school year.
A Brown spokesperson says the admissions office is still tallying regular applications for the class of 2015.
Last year was a record year for applications at Brown. The university received some 30,000 applications for undergraduate admission, a 20 percent increase from the prior year and the second year in a row that the school had a significant increase in applicants.
School officials had to open a second facility just to handle the influx in paperwork, but this year that shouldn’t be a problem. A spokesperson says Brown has now moved to an entirely electronic application.
