Back from vacation
Hi all! I’m back from a break, and there’s lots of catching up to do:
* Providence has a new(ish) superintendent – the district made it official this week with current Acting Superintendent Susan Lusi.
* The Board of Higher Education rejected pay raises for faculty at state colleges and universities. Then the University of Rhode Island faculty union filed an unfair labor practices complaint with the State Labor Relations Board.
* Rhode Island Public Radio hosted a public forum on the contemporary arts in conjunction with the Providence Athenaeum.
It’s called “Looking for Contemporary Art in the Creative Capitol: today’s visual art scene in Providence. If you missed the event, not to worry! We’ll be broadcasting the discussion this Sunday at 11 a.m. on Rhode Island Public Radio. 88.1 FM in Providence, 102.7 FM in South County, 91.5 FM in Coventry.
* And the National Assessment of Educational Progress releases science testing results tomorrow. More to come on that!
