Treasurer to review CollegeBoundfund

As part of a top-to-bottom review of the State Treasury Department, Treasurer Gina Raimondo says she will be paying special attention to the CollegeBoundfund.
The fund is a savings vehicle for higher education expenses that offers some tax advantages. A spokesperson from Raimondo’s office says the ratings agency Morning Star recntly raised concerns about its financial health.
Other programs in the review include the state’s investment portfolios and the way the state reports information to bond investors.
Raimondo has asked a group of six outside experts to assist with the examination.
